Troop 1323

Hello Scouts:

Yes, it is time for the Troop 1323 Annual Shaving Cream Fun Monday night, August 18. Wear your swim suit, bring a towel, and bring two dollars for the shaving cream.

If you have a Scoutmaster’s Conference or Board of Review scheduled, bring your class “A’ uniform and we’ll do it afterwards.

Also, sign-ups for Senior Patrol Leader and the other leadership positions will open tomorrow night.

First, sorry about the short downtime the website had recently. Everything is back up and running now!

I bought the 1323.org domain 6 years ago, after a few years of having the site hosted at various web hosts. The short downtime was caused by my own error, forgetting to renew the domain. I had renewed it years ago, and all the warnings about its expiration were sent to an old email from years ago. The good news is, I have bought a 4 year lease so 1323.org will live on through 2012. I hope this website will continue to evolve into a resource for all troop members and prospective Troop 1323 scouts and scouters.

Hello Scouts and Parents:

We’ve had two very successful summer camps and a Philmont Trek. Thanks to the Scouts, parents, and adult leaders. We all got a little wet, a little tired, and a few bites or scrapes; but we also got to live in and enjoy God’s Country, share experiences that brought us closer together, and grow as individuals.

I’ve announced some changes in our August calendar at the meetings, but I wanted to get it to you guys via email.

1. We will meet every Monday night from July 28 until our Court of Honor Sept. 20 at Double Lake. When you’re not out of town, work on completing your advancements. As a reminder or if you can’t find your copy, attached is our Advancement guidelines & instructions. If you have any questions, ask your Troop Guide, Patrol Leader, or SPL.

2. We will not have Scoutmaster’s Surprise August 1-3 and we will not have Scoutmaster’s meeting July 29th. I hope next summer our schedule will not be as aggressive so we can have it then.

3. We will have Scoutmaster’s meeting on Tuesday, August 5th. We will plan the Computer Campout and discuss options for summer camp 2009.

4. The Computer Campout has been moved up a week to August 15-17. This will be a better weekend, it’s not the weekend before school starts.
